“Harold attended the P4 CCI™ as a prerequisite for his first Science tuition in 2019. He was expecting revision of all the earlier topics.
However, he learned the topics in another perspective after the first day. Ms Eunice conducted the class by having discussion and active interaction with the students which he find more interesting and enhance his understanding.
His weakness is answering questions in section B which he learned how to answer by using CUE technique and he is able to remember it.
We hope that this will improve his confidence, interest and approach to his Science.”

This is a good start as she always says all tutors are fierce and is very apprehensive when it comes to attending any class, school or tuition. The colourful notes certainly help to pique their interest too.
Before The Pique Lab, we were enrolled in a very boring centre. I believe the MOE-trained teacher tries her best but she may be just rattling off her answers and Yutian came home each time uninspired and not wishing to know more, which I think is a key component to Science success.

My son, who shared that he did not understand his own school’s science teacher, said he enjoyed The Pique Lab’s classes and understood all the science topics after Ms Lim’s classes. He was able to concentrate even though the class was 3 hours long, that truly goes to show how interesting the classes were and how efficient Ms Lim was in capturing the children’s attention.
Looking through the content of the notes, I can say it wholly follows the school syllabus. The revision notes and worksheets given were of excellent quality. The colors and content of the notes, and also techniques taught in class, really helped my son in remembering the science concepts and in revising for his exams.

Children’s Involvement in Lessons and Discussions!
“The first lesson was quite a let down as there were technical issues that weren’t solved right at the beginning of the P4 CCI Science Course. There were disruptions and my child wasn’t able to follow throughout the lesson, busy copying the standard answers every now and then.
As for the lesson flows, I was expecting a little more than just plainly frontier teaching like asking questions and giving answers (which parents are able to do together with children at home). Things like live experiments, using of props should be included.
Science lessons should be interesting, not boring question and answer sessions. Besides, there should be a Q and A session where children get to ask questions and clear their doubts.
Although the lesson format was not satisfactory, I must give a thumbs-up to Teacher Eunice who had managed to involve my child during the 2nd lesson. My child enjoyed her lesson.”

The course covered many topics and was a good revision for students. The colourful notes were excellent as they were attractive and the main points were summarised. The CUE method was taught during the course and it helped students to answer open-ended questions.
During the lesson, Ms. Lim Zi Ai conducted experiments on ‘light & shadows’. She also made useful annotations on many questions and highlighted some questions that students tend to make mistakes.
