Dear Parents
2023 P6 Grade Accelerator Programme
Here’s How We Intend To Help Your Child Succeed.
Here’s What We’ll Be Covering In The Upcoming Months
What We Hope To Achieve From January to May
We will be working closely with your child to introduce these Primary 6 topics:
- Energy
- Forces
- Interactions: The Web of Life
- Adaptations
Using the Complete Concept Integration™ Science methodology, we will be covering the above topics to expose your child to the key concepts of each topic, identify the key question trends and apply the answering techniques/structures on questions effectively.
Concurrently, we will be using past-year examination papers to help students reinforce key concepts taught from Primary 3 to Primary 6 in preparation for the P6 mid-year assessments. Hence, we strongly advise that you do not purchase the 2022 past year examination papers, as we will be providing them for your child.
What We Hope To Achieve By May
Timed assignments will be given to your child to assess your child’s level of understanding of the subject matter. These timed assignments will be marked by your child’s teacher & reviewed together in class.
The analysis of the answers provided by students through their marked tests would help us to identify answers to these two questions:
(A) Is your child able to apply the answering techniques taught when tackling examination questions?
(B) Is there any specific area of weakness that needs to be addressed in the upcoming months to the PSLE?
These insights gleaned from your child’s learning will help us to review and revise our curriculum accordingly to meet the needs of our students.
This is also one of the key strategies employed by us over the past 8 years, which has enhanced the effectiveness of your child’s classroom time with our teachers.
By the end of May, you can expect that your child will have completed the entire Primary 6 syllabus, except for the topic of Man’s Impact on the Environment.
What We Hope To Achieve By June
During the month of June, we will be covering the final topic: Man’s Impact on the Environment.
Some parents were also asking if there will be extra lessons during the June holidays.
Our curriculum is well-equipped to manage your child’s learning progress without having additional lessons during this period (with the exception of Masterclasses).
Our only expectation is that your child rigorously adheres to the deadlines for work submission so as to maximise every learning opportunity through the detailed marking by his/her teacher.
Experimental Techniques Masterclass
If your child has not attended the Experimental Techniques Masterclass yet, I will highly recommend that your child finds some time to complete this very impactful 3-hour workshop.
This will help your child pick up the essential skill sets needed to tackle 7 types of experimental-centric questions effectively.
These skill sets are touched upon but not covered in detail during GAP weekly lessons.

From July to September – Will Your Child Be Ready For The PSLE?
We will be using our specially curated worksheets and study guides to help students reinforce key concepts from Primary 3 to 6 once more in the lead-up to their Preliminary Examinations and finally the PSLE.
Concurrently, we will be preparing a range of past year exam papers with answers using the CCI™ methodology.
These papers will be completed in both guided and assessment-based (non-guided) settings. This strategy allows us to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our students early, giving them sufficient time for improvement.
With hundreds of questions from the above worksheets prepared, we are confident in providing your child with the much-needed question exposure and concept reinforcement to maximise your child’s potential.
What If The Topic Sequence Doesn’t Match Your Child’s School Curriculum?
As you may be aware, different schools teach topics in different sequences and your child’s school curriculum may not be perfectly aligned with the curriculum of our Grade Accelerator Programme.
Here at The Pique Lab, we teach an accelerated curriculum and our end goal is to cover the entire syllabus and have ample time for revision for the final year examination.
If your child has not learned a topic that is taught during the Grade Accelerator Programme, it will be a head start for him/her before the topic is taught during the school curriculum.
If your child has learnt it in school previously, it will be a good reinforcement for him/her as he/she might not have a thorough understanding of the topic when he/she was taught in school.
Throughout your child’s academic year with us, should he/she be taught a different topic from our internal curriculum, we will provide an additional topical study guide, on request, for him/her to work on in his/her own time.
Is Your Child Ready For The Big Year Ahead?
Over the years, we have also learnt that parents play a pivotal role in the academic success of their child. In particular, we discovered that students typically achieve breakthroughs faster in Science if their parents coach and monitor them at home regularly.
In order to offer the best learning experience for your child, we also strive to provide an amazing support system for parents, like you.
For starters, here is how you can help your child improve more quickly:
#1: Ensure that your child completes his/her homework properly & punctually and brings them back to class.
#2: Ensure that your child reviews our notes and worksheets during the week.
#3: Ensure that your child is adequately prepared for our tests.
#4: If your child is unclear of a concept or has a question, you are highly encouraged to post that on our Parent Support Group on Facebook or encourage him/her to approach his/her teacher.
Please note that only topical tests & graded assignments given in the weekly classes will be marked for all learning arrangements. Homework that is given in the weekly classes will be reviewed together as a class and will not be marked.
Thank you & all the best! 😇
