GRADUATE TRAINING OPPORTUNITY:
Discover How We Can Groom YOU To Be A Highly Respected Science Teacher In The Private Enrichment Space In 2 Years Or Less
(… While Getting Paid Well To Do What You Love!)
Spend the next 7 minutes reading every single word on this page and then decide for yourself if this route as a teacher is suitable for you.
Do you love to teach? I know many undergraduates do!
It is very satisfying to be able to help someone succeed academically, while making a decent income even as a part-time job.
However, it doesn’t seem intuitive for many graduates to consider a career in the private teaching service.
Why?
Like these graduates, you may agree that being a private tuition teacher is a poor career choice:
- Lack of job stability
- No career progression opportunities
- You don’t even get to learn much
Well, the truth is that you just need to know where to look.
It is definitely possible to become a highly sought-after teacher in the private enrichment space in 2 years or less, while getting paid to do what you love.
Here’s what we’ve been offering our graduate hires:
Great starting pay package (… starting from $4,000, averaging at $5,300/month with bonuses)
Clear career progression trajectory with multiple career pathways (… Besides a comfortable pay check of $5,000 to $7.000/ month as a Senior Associate within 3 years, you also get to explore other developmental projects & managerial opportunities, aside from teaching.)
A 9-month structured training programme for incoming associates (… you get to learn the best teaching practices that we have been using to charm our students. Yes, our team is willing to spend our time & effort to groom you for success.)
The end result?
Our graduate hires have been delivering exceptional lessons to our students after applying valuable teaching skills from our rigorous training and mentorship programme. They became so sought-after that their classes are consistently booked out with long waiting lists.
They no longer have to worry about finding students for themselves and they focus majority of their time, honing their teaching skills and becoming highly competent & charismatic speakers.
Here’s a fun fact: Most of them are only in their mid-20s, JUST a couple of years after their graduation and they do not have a PGDE certificate.
Just imagine what kind of professional growth they can experience in the next 3 to 5 years with us…
… If this sounds like what you want for yourself in your career, we’ve an interesting opportunity for you.
We’re currently at a stage of growth where we’re expanding our team! We’re very excited to work with passionate teachers who believe in honing their craft & becoming the best in the industry.
We’ll share more about what we do to help them get to where they are today.
Here’s What Parents Have Said About Our Teachers
Ms. Joanna Nazarene
Senior Associate (NUS BSc, Chemistry)
Will Return In A Heartbeat
“Thank you Ms Joanna for engaging the kids so well! Matt really enjoyed his class with you as you can tell with his enthusiasm! He dares to ask questions and he understands when you teach most importantly! He has done very well for science getting >90%! Pique lab has awesome notes and teachers..will return to Pique lab in a heartbeat if everything can fit into his new schedule!”
– Ms. Cheryl Clare Lim
Mr. Malcolm
Associate (NUS BSc Life Sciences)
Interesting With Great Answering Techniques!
“The CCI course is useful for recapping on all the learnt Science topics. Our boy loves Science but he is not always concise with his way of answering the open-ended questions or missing the correct keywords and that resulted in him losing unnecessary marks. Mr Malcolm’s coaching during the CCI course was not only interesting, he also taught the kids the correct answering techniques required for scoring well in the open-ended section. The CCI course is recommended for kids who want to improve to have a quick revision on all the science concepts and improve their way of tackling the open-ended questions.”
– Ms. Joanne W.
Ms. Cheryl Ng
Senior Associate (NUS BSc, Chemistry)
Never Fail To Make Lessons Interesting
“Thank you Teacher Cheryl for your unweaving love for the kids, for being tough when required and being a buddy on other occasions. You never fail to make your lesson interesting, your passion is felt even through the zoom lessons. I would like to especially thank you for your attention to their academic performance and keeping us informed on the gaps. Thank you for the partnership in their development!
– Ms. Angeline Lim
But before that, you probably have a question – “Why should I listen to you?”
My name is Kenneth & I’m the Academic Director of The Pique Lab.
My team and I specialise in helping primary school students achieve extraordinary improvements in their Science results (A & A*s) using our proprietary learning methodology.
Over the past 10 years, I have personally coached & mentored my team of 24 teachers through our Teaching Associate Programme, which empowered us to help more than 20,000 students.
Our students’ results speak for themsleves: 80% of our students score As and A*s in their PSLE Science Examination and we have been able to uphold this track record consistently, even at larger cohort sizes.
Our unique method of teaching primary school Science has also been featured in several media outlets such as The Asian Parent, Money 89.3FM, The New Paper and 联合早报. Besides, we were commissioned by a local primary school to teach our methodology to their entire department of Science teachers.

How We Groom Our Talents For Success In The Private Education Sector
The Teaching Associate Programme is the rite of passage for every teacher who joins The Pique Lab’s academic team.
Every teaching associate will be mentored and guided by our senior teachers from our academic faculty who have over a decade of teaching experience under their belts.
We are committed to helping every teacher master important concepts, teaching strategies and communication skills, so that you can be proficient, confident and well-liked by parents and students.
What You’ll Learn in Your Career with Us
You will learn our strategies immediately in the first month and start seeing massive breakthroughs in your career as a Science expert. These are the exact same techniques that our teachers use to reach out to over 16,938 students over the past 9 years.
01
Content Mastery
Solidifying Fundamentals, Understanding Template Structures, Keywords & Phrases
How do you become as proficient as a teacher who has 10 years of teaching experience in 2 years or less?
We help our teaching associates shorten their learning curves massively using our proprietary Complete Concept Integration™ methodology.
1) We help you understand the key examination question trends and question types from each Science topic.
2) From there, we quickly review all of the important concepts and various misconceptions that students tend to make.
3) Next, we’ll introduce template answering structures, which are canned responses designed to reduce the time needed to tackle open-ended questions.
Once you have built your foundation, we train your memory and application skills by exposing you to a wider variety of past year examination questions through technical exercises.
02
Attention Control
Pace, Expression, Tonality Control
Have you ever wondered why children do not seem to get bored watching cartoons for an entire day?
Presenting the art of entertainment:
You’ll be taught exactly how to make your lessons come alive, such that your students never get bored of them.
We will dive deep into several teaching moments on coherency, clarity, tempo, gestures, expression and even the use of jokes & stories in your lessons.
Ultimately, you will become an expert at engaging children & helping them achieve their learning goals.
03
Class Control
Where Fun & Discpline Intermingles
Are you a teacher who is more ‘fun’ or ‘stern’? Think about this: Can you be both?
We’ll teach effective classroom management strategies, so that you’re able to manage children in groups of 12 to 14.
You will learn how to set expectations with your students and help them follow instructions without being overtly controlling or forceful.
Using a blend of verbal cues (visual, auditory & physical), we have been successful at maintaining a fun, yet discplined teaching approach with our students.
When the class is managed right, your students will know when not to cross the line and be comfortable participating actively during in-class discussions.
04
Performance Management
Giving Cues & Behavior-specific Praises
Have you ever wondered why children tend to get restless easily during lessons?
Our attention spans are like batteries. They drain gradually when we use them to process information.
When we are not stimulated enough, we lose interest easily. This is akin to our batteries go from fully charged to ‘please charge’.
One of the ways that we keep our students engaged is to ask them “Yes” or “No” questions.
If the answer is correct, we recognise & encourage positive behavior and help them another succeeding question to help them connect the dots.
If the answer is incorrect, we will ask them more questions, so that they’re able to rationalise on their own and resolve their misconceptions.
Cues like these help to instil confidence in our young learners & make them develop a stronger affinity for the subject.
05
Communicating With Parents
Managing Expectations & Maintaing A Cordial Working Partnership
How do you communicate with parents, such that they are supportive & appreciative of your work?
At the heart of what we do, we have the best interests of every student that we work with.
It is important to set expectations right by communicating effectively to avoid any unnecessary tension between you and the parent.
You’ll learn how to read personality, understand motivations and concerns, so that you are in a better position to make sound recommendations.
The Culture That Keeps Us Strong Together
What does culture mean to you?
To us, culture means more than just free coffee, snacks or celebrating wins over meals. These things matter, but culture transcends beyond them.
Culture supports our vision: to help more students kindle a love for learning & be genuinely interested in the world around them.
Culture provides key answers to questions such as:
- What values do we believe in?
- What are the systems & processes we need to put in place to support our team members?
- How do we build & maintain meaningful relationships with each other?
We are fostering an environment of trust, transparency and collaboration. We believe in sharing best practices with each other and giving our team members opportunities to shine, regardless of your job title or seniority. We don’t welcome politics and have no room for self-centred rockstars.
We want you to share your dreams and goals with us, so that we can work together with you to achieve them. We want you to think about how you can better improve yourself to produce stronger results for the community; suggestions on how to better our culture, products or brand. As we grow together as an organisation, we want to ensure that your views and insights are represented.
We believe that the best results are produced by the best performers. We believe in being responsible for our own actions & creating work that we can be proud of. We also believe in giving the best to our team members & that is why we will try our best to provide a fun, rewarding and inclusive working environment.
Growing Stronger Together With Us
At The Pique Lab, we promote a culture of career development and learning.
We are interested in putting the right talents in the right roles & help empower our team members to develop themselves within the company.
We achieve this by putting our team members through training programmes, coupled with mentorship and regular feedback. We also challenge everyone with new opportunities to make sure that growth is the constant.
