What Your Child Will Learn

During this 2-hour hands-on practical workshop, we’ll work closely with your child to improve his/her practical skills to tackle practical assessments confidently.

🚀 Master Science Practical Assessment Skills

Your child will practise the skills tested in Science WA Practical Assessments from making accurate observations to recording results and drawing well-reasoned conclusions.

Animal Classification/Plants, Fungi & Bacteria

Identify the unique characteristics of animals
Evaluate whether a given classification is correct and explain the reasoning
Describe the characteristics of Plants, Fungi & Bacteria
Complete a classification table using suitable headings
Classify organisms based on observable characteristics (e.g. cap, spores, seeds; number of legs)

Magnets

Observe the direction of a freely suspended magnet
Create a magnet using the Stroke Method
Test the attraction and repulsion of magnets

Materials

Test objects by dropping water on them and classify them as waterproof or not waterproof
Bend materials gently and classify them as flexible or not flexible
Shine a torch through the materials and observe whether light passes through
Choose the most suitable material for a specific use (e.g. spectacle lens) based on the results

🟡 Challenger — More complex experiments that deepen understanding of the PSLE Science syllabus

About Your Child’s Instructors

Your child will be taught by one of these instructors from our PSLE Science Specialist team.

Ms. Joanna Nazarene

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Ms. Joanna is proficient in her knowledge of Science and is fully equipped to patiently guide her students with the understanding of the PSLE Science concepts and application questions.

Having 12 years of teaching experience, Ms. Joanna ensures that her students are engaged and excited to learn by creating an enjoyable and interactive learning environment for them. Due to her friendly personality and devotion towards teaching, she has established a remarkable rapport among her students and their parents.

Ms. Jolie Goh

Over the past 10 years, Ms. Jolie has been proficient in showing her students how to apply scientific concepts to everyday phenomena while equipping them with the ability to relate once complicated scenarios to simple solutions. This has helped to inculcate the development of logic and critical thinking skills for her students.

As a graduate from the National University of Singapore (NUS), Ms. Jolie strives to achieve the amalgamation of academic excellence and essential life skills in her classroom. With patience and encouragement, she aims to foster confidence in her students and guide them through challenging topics and questions using proven methods. Her jovial disposition makes learning fun, jumpstarting her students’ interest and enthusiasm for Science.

Learning Arrangement (Acknowledgement):*

The P1/P2 Science Exploration Programme will be conducted either digitally via Zoom or onsite at our Centre, subject to the prevailing national Safe Management Measures.

We will advise the confirmed learning arrangement 1 week prior to the course commencement.

There will be no fee refund or course withdrawals accommodated in due to the learning arrangement (normal withdrawal terms & conditions apply).

If the P1/P2 Science Exploration Programme is conducted onsite at our Centre, we will NOT be able to accommodate for students to attend digitally via Zoom.

If the P1/P2 Science Exploration Programme is conducted digitally via Zoom, we will NOT be able to accommodate for students to attend onsite at the Centre. Additionally, parental supervision will be required for the duration of the programme for the digital learning arrangement.

I understand that the programme may be conducted digitally via Zoom or onsite at the Centre, subject to the prevailing national Safe Management Measures and there will be no fee refund or course withdrawals accommodated in such situations (normal withdrawal terms & conditions apply).
