Conquer Experiment-centric Questions Like A Pro

The Experimental Techniques™ Masterclass is a 3-hour course where we work together with primary school students to improve their answering techniques to tackle experiment-centric questions.

Our specialists have identified six types of experiment-centric questions that can be tested in the open-ended section of the Science paper:

Qn: What is the aim of the experiment?
Qn: What is the relationship between A & B?
Qn: What does one do to keep X the same to ensure a fair test?
Qn: How do we ensure the results of the experiment are reliable?
Qn: What’s the purpose of the control set-up?
Qn: What can we conclude from the results of the experiment?

Having a systematic approach to answer these questions can save your child precious time and the agony of coming up with a half-baked answer.

We know it’s tough to spot, analyse and come up with your own answering techniques for your child from scratch, because we’ve done it on our own.

Personally, we’ve invested close to a hundred hours of our time, designing multiple answering techniques that are easy to understand and be applied easily.

Truth to be told: Our answering techniques have also gone through the test of time & we have been refining them over the years to meet the expectations of primary school examination setters. Since our students attended our Experiment Techniques™ Masterclasses, they have been using these answering techniques effectively in their primary school examination papers and even the PSLE Science paper.

If these answering techniques work well for our students, we are sure it’ll work for your child as well.

Here’s What We’ll Be Covering During This Course:

  • A tested and proven system that will help your child tackle experiment-centric questions accurately and effortlessly… so he/ she can move extremely fast during the PSLE Science paper
  • Understand the thought process behind how experiment-centric questions are designed (once mastered, your child can easily EXTRACT and COPY certain parts of the question to formulate his/ her answers EASILY)

  • Learn the key techniques to identify the “changed” and “measured” variables – a ‘fool-proof’ method to secure the full score to an answer (Get this right and watch your child’s Science grade increase dramatically! Get this wrong and your child may be losing a lot of unnecessary marks!)

  • The exact “copy and paste” template answers your child should be using for the 6 types of experiment-centric questions as they are designed to “cover all grounds” in the PSLE Science paper!

  • Learn how to link key scientific concepts to the question asked, so the examiner understands that your child knows exactly what he/ she is writing (… instead of pure regurgitation, a common mistake committed by under performers!)

Here’s What Other Parents Are Saying…

Benefitted From Notes & Templates!

It was indeed a great session Both Krissha and I felt that you guys have really put in so much of effort to actually identify and consolidate templates for easy learning. It was just a mere 3-hour session, but Krissha told me that she was glad that she had attended this session as she had definitely benefitted from the notes and templates. Great Job!

Mrs Anitha, Mother of T. Krissha

We Do Not Feel Alone!

I am glad to find structured and to the point kind of solution that can help my daughter greatly.

With this session, we know that we can go through together to help her PSLE with higher confidence and easy for us as a parent.

Thanks to The Pique Lab team for the customized class and ongoing efforts on the replies of the doubts and clarification of the science topics through Facebook. This is where we feel that we are not alone with the struggles!

Gave Us A Clearer Picture!

The Experimental Technique Masterclass zooms into different types of experiment questions, answering techniques for each of these questions, key words/phrases to be used, which is exactly what we needed for our son who needs a lot of exposure in these areas.

The briefing for parents was also very good as it gave us a clearer picture of what is expected by the school and how we are able to guide our son.

Thank you! We’re looking forward to the CCI course!

Better Understanding!

I signed up my son for the Experimental Techniques Masterclass because his Science has always been around grade A and we wanted to further boost his grade to A*.

This class is useful as its focus is on the different types of experiment-centric questions and the relevant techniques to tackle the open-ended questions. After the class, he has a better understanding to approach such open-ended questions in Science. Thank you!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Masterclass?

This is NOT a trial class nor a typical program where you expect 20-30 students crammed in a class, in a bid to do some last-minute rescue work. …a Masterclass is more like a lesson dedicated towards the strong mastery of a particular skill.

Here’s how it works: Throughout our teaching careers, we have perfected a number of strategies and tactics that are proven to work for our students. More importantly, these strategies are carefully documented in our course material, so these best practices could be taught effectively to new primary school students. We will not hold any back “secret tactics” (unlike traditional kungfu masters) & these strategies would be EXACTLY THE SAME as the ones taught to our high performers.

Please note that our Experimental Techniques™ Masterclass is not for everyone. They work best for students who have the will & determination to do well, but are lacking the right strategies to get to the A or A*. Our strategies are all meat and no fluff. If you want lengthy theories, please read the textbook instead. Our Experimental Techniques™ Masterclass is all about taking action and getting results as quickly and easily as possible!

Will there be breaks in between classes?

Yes, we typically offer a 5-10 minutes break for every 1-hour of learning. Your child will get two short breaks during the 3-hour masterclass.

Will my child be getting any materials from this masterclass?

Yes, your child will be receiving both a guide booklet covering the answering techniques for the 6 types of experiment-centric questions.

On top of that, he/she will be receiving a question booklet containing a curated list of open-ended questions from primary school examination papers. These questions have been carefully handpicked from different schools & sorted based on their topics.

As such, your child would have the opportunity to apply the thought processes and answering techniques learnt on these questions immediately.

Who is the instructor for the class?

Our classes are conducted by our team of highly-popular PSLE Science Specialists.

Our PSLE Science Specialists have collectively more than ten years of teaching experience under their belts. During which, they have experimented with plenty of studying strategies, keywords & template answers. More importantly, they know what works for the student and what doesn’t.

Using the proven techniques from our Complete Concept Integration™ methodology, they have helped more than 80% of their students clinch As and A*s during the PSLE Science examination. Seasoned by experience, they’re known among parents for building rapport with their students & helping them achieve tremendous academic results in the shortest period of time.

What is the maximum class size?

Our Experimental Techniques™ masterclasses are typically fully booked. You can expect the class to have 12 students.

What is the difference between the CCI Science Workshop and the Experimental Techniques Masterclass?

The CCI™ Science Program is a different program from the 3-hour Experimental Techniques™ Masterclass.

The 3-hour masterclass is a skills-based workshop – focusing on questions involved in experimental set-ups (such as what is the aim of the experiment, how to ensure a fair test, etc). In contrast, the CCI workshop is a content-based, comprehensive workshop – focusing on the thought processes & answering techniques for a selected number of P4 and P5 topics (and P6 topics for P6 CCI).

There’ll not be any overlaps in terms of the focus. Parents usually send their kids for both courses because we cover answering techniques for different skillets.
