Is My Child\u2019s DSA Place Guaranteed After Accepting The Offer?

For students moving on to secondary school, their place will be guaranteed if these 2 criteria are met:<\/p>\n

<\/span>\u2705 Their PSLE result qualifies them for the Posting Group<\/strong> offered by the school.<\/span><\/p>\n

MOE posts students to secondary schools through 3 posting groups:<\/p>\n

1\ufe0f\u20e3 Posting Group 1<\/strong>: Previously Normal (Technical)
<\/strong><\/span>2\ufe0f\u20e3 <\/span>Posting<\/strong> Group 2<\/strong>: Previously <\/span>Normal (Academic)
<\/strong>3\ufe0f\u20e3 <\/span>Posting Group 3<\/strong>: Previously <\/span>Express<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Example 1\ufe0f\u20e3<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the school only offers Posting Group 3, your child’s PSLE score must qualify for Posting Group 3. This includes those in Posting Group 3 and Posting Group 2 option band.<\/p>\n

Example 2\ufe0f\u20e3<\/strong><\/p>\n

If the school offers Posting Groups 1, 2, and 3, your child’s PSLE score must at least qualify for Posting Group 1. If your child is eligible for Posting Group 1, they will admit to Posting Group 1 of the school.<\/p>\n

Must-Knows About Accepting A DSA-Sec Offer

\ud83d\udca1 Before accepting a DSA-Sec offer, you and your child must understand what the commitment entails and its restrictions:

\u2705 If your child is admitted to a secondary school through DSA-Sec, he\/she is not allowed<\/strong> to submit school choices during the Secondary 1 (S1) posting process.
\u2705 He\/she is not allowed to transfer to another school<\/strong> after the PSLE results are released.
\u2705 He\/she must commit to his\/her chosen school<\/strong> for the duration of the programme.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
